Parish Secretary's Message
news

With a grateful heart, let's express our gratitude to Almighty God for the blessings bestowed upon us, even amidst the diverse life experiences we encountered during the month of August.

From a Christian perspective, September holds symbolic significance that resonates with the themes of new beginnings, spiritual renewal, and a deepening commitment to faith. The advent of September, often coinciding with the start of the academic year and the transition into autumn, offers a natural opportunity for reflection and recalibration.

Furthermore, September carries historical significance within Christianity. September 21st commemorates the feast day of important biblical figures such as the Apostle Matthew. The biblical narrative recounts Moses receiving the second set of the Ten Commandments in the month of Elul, which often corresponds with September which serves as a potent reminder of God's covenant and enduring mercy. Having these on the background, Parish has planned several events for the month of September, and we firmly believe that these events will enhance our spiritual growth and bring us closer to God.

The Dubai Mar Thoma Parish is delighted to announce the launch of a Bible Certificate Course ‘KERYGMA’ for our members, providing an in-depth exploration of both the New Testament and the Old Testament. Details are given in this bulletin. Dubai Mar Thoma Church celebrates Teachers' Day to acknowledge the critical role of educators in shaping young minds and characters. Our parish recognizes their dedication and the lasting impact they have on students' lives.

On September 6th, 7th, and 8th, our parish celebrates Sevika Sangha Dinam. Dubai Mar Thoma Parish extends its heartfelt felicitations to the Mar Thoma Sevika Sanghom on the occasion of Sevika Sangham Day. We commend Sevika Sanghom's unwavering commitment to spiritual enrichment, community service, and the empowerment of women within the church and society. On September 13th, 14th, and 15th, our parish celebrates Senior Citizen's Day. The Mar Thoma Senior Citizenship Fellowship is vital in the Mar Thoma Church, providing a platform for seniors to connect, share wisdom, and mentor younger members. The Dubai Mar Thoma Parish Mission celebrates 50 years of spiritual growth and service with the Golden Jubilee Inauguration on 28th September. This milestone honours the legacy of those who laid the foundation while looking forward to a future filled with continued blessings and inspiring initiative that empowers individuals within the Mar Thoma Church to actively share the Gospel and serve their communities. Guidance and Counselling Cell: On Saturday, September 28th, we will officially inaugurate our newly established guidance and counselling cell during morning worship.

We are forming a team of IT professionals in our parish, the IT Cell, to provide services for our various parish IT requirements. We welcome those interested in helping our parish. September, a harvest season in many regions, serves as a reminder of God's abundant provisions. While Onam coincides with this period in Kerala, its observance is primarily cultural. Participation in Onam Sadhya remains a personal choice, devoid of doctrinal conflict for those who perceive it as an expression of cultural appreciation and community engagement, echoing the spirit of inclusivity exemplified by Jesus. Let's welcome this month with hearts full of faith, eager to deepen our connection with Jesus and share His love with everyone we meet. Together, let's be a source of hope, shining brightly in our community and reflecting the light of Christ in every action we take.
